here's all the info about my creativity contest

the contest STARTS: APRIL 1ST

This is a contest to promote originality and creativity on DA, the theme is up to the contestant (love, seasons, songs, zodiac, etc.) it might sound easy, but it isn't. The idea is to challenge the deviant to be creative, original and to create something unique and also challenge her/himself to grow as an artist and create something different from the usual ( no cliché ).

there will be 4 categories:
*photography
*digital art
*literature
and *traditional art
(3 winners for each category and honorable mentions)

----------------> THE RULES <----------------

you've to read THE RULES these apply for all categories:


above all the rules: do not copy other works and try to think outside the box, for example if you're going to participate in the photography category i don't want to see the usual water droplets on feathers or flowers, or cherry trees, or simple flower or eyes shots. If you're going to participate with a photomanip in the digital art category please please avoid girls on black skirts with crows and crosses PLEASE NO!! no cliché.

the contest is only open to the following levels:
intermediate and beginners i'll measure that with your number of pageviews and taking a look at your gallery. if you're a gallery director, a senior or a member of the DA staff you cannot send an entry. (the contest only will be open to intermediate and begginers to make it as fair as possible)

your entry must be specially made for this contest!!

your entries must be submited after the day the contest officially starts (April 1st) and you must send them to me via note with the subject "contest entry" or something similar.

you can submit as many entries as you like, but remember "quality over quantity".

you have to credit all the resources you used (if you used any) and also let know in a comment if in the deviation you used your own stock/resources.

write in the artist comments that your deviation is an entry for the *my-dark-desire ( :dev my-dark-desire: without the blank space ) contest and provide a link to this journal ---> [link]

deadline June 30 that gives you 3 months to get inspired and make a kick ass job!!

****note: if you're going to send an entry for the literature category make sure to send something short (no much more than 3000 words if it's a story), remember that the judges will have to read all the entries

send an old entry
send a collaboration
enter with the same deviation to another contest
send an entry if you're a judge (in your same category) or a gallery director, a senior or a member of the DA staff.
send a cliché deviation or a work made from a third part
use any copyrighted image or text (fragments or the full).

Background : Nata in una famiglia povera,fin da piccola dovette affrontare il peso della vita. Uno dei pochi momenti di svago consisteva nelle battute di caccia,che frequentava assiduamente (rara eccezione) insieme ai propri genitori. Qui imparò ad accuire i sensi e,insieme ai lavori nei campi,ad aumentare la propria resistenza fisica e forza. In queste occasioni incominciò a trapelare la sua natura sadica e selvaggia,correndo per la foresta armata di scure,cercando in tutti i modi di sorprendere le prede in uno scontro diretto,anche a mani nude. Il padre le insegnò strategie di caccia e tecniche di combattimento,mentre la madre le impartiva nozioni di pronto soccorso,soprattutto quando le curava le ferite procurategli da lupi o cinghiali…
Ma all'età di 8 anni il suo piccolo mondo fu distrutto.Il villaggio fu depredato e distrutto da un assalto di predoni. Molti combatteron con coraggio ma alla fine furono schiacciati dalla superiorità numerica. In pochi sopravvissero e molti di questi furon venduti come schiavi.
Poco prima dell'attacco era andata a caccia per far una sorpresa ai propri genitori. Il trambusto proveniente in lontananza dal villaggio la insospettì non poco e decise quindi di ritornarvi. Un urlo di rabbia e disperazione le sgorgò dalla gola mentre correva alla ricerca di sopravissuti. Voleva morire,ma il suo spirito di sopravvivenza ebbe la meglio e la costrinse ad andare avanti,anche a costo di trasformarsi in essere disumano.
Raccolse i pochi viveri rimasti e qualche utensile, e si diresse di nuovamente nella foresta,per evitare di finir sbranata nel sonno dalle belve feroci riunitesi a banchettare coi cadaveri dei suoi compaesani.
Eran passati solo un paio di settimane,che notòun piccolo rifugio occupato da due uomini. Chiese ospitalità,senza sapere che in realtà facevan parte della retroguardia dei predoni,ritornata a prendere cio che rimaneva del villaggio.
Quando seppero che lei era una delle poche sopravvissute,le tesero una trappola per imprigionarla e venderla. La sorpresero di notte e, nonostante una strenua resistenza (in cui ferì gravemente uno dei due),venne sopraffatta. A causa della sua indole,venne ripetutamente seviziata. Ma fu un grave errore,che portò al risveglio la "bestia " assopita dentro di lei.
Alcune notti dopo la cattura,Alina riuscì a liberarsi e tese loro un agguato al'interno della capanna. Mentre uno di loro entrava a controllare,fulminea gli tagliò il tendine d'achille con un coccio trovato li per terra e si gettò sopra di lui per finirlo. La "bestia" prese il sopravvento. Gli azzannò la gola squrciandogliela a morsi. Attirato dalle urla del compagno arrivò l'altro predone trvandola a carponi con il viso insanguinato. Estrasse il coltello ma lei fu più veloce. Con una mano gli bloccò il colpo mentre con l'altra lo sventrava. Atterrandolo infierì su lui sfogando tutta la sua rabbia. In quel momento scattò qualcosa dentro di lei. Incominciò a divorarli e a dilaniarli come fosse una fiera.
Continuò a vivere nella foresta assalendo e divorando tutti i ladri e viandanti della zona per alcuni anni,fino a quando non capitò in una magione isolata. Tentò di entrarvi per razziarne i viveri ma fu nuovamente imprigionata. Stavolta però,non fu trattata da animale, ma come essere umano.
Il proprietario,un'eccentrico mercante d'armi riuscì a farla rinsavire e la tenne con sé.
Restò per circa due anni,nei quali s'allenò duramente ed approfondì la propria cultura.
Un giorno,però,si ritrovò sola in casa con solo un biglietto in cui vi era scritto che partiva per un viaggio d'affari e di aspettarlo. Alcuni giorni dopo delle guardie fecero irruzione all'interno della magione accusandola d'esser complice del ladro che aveva assassinato il vero proprietario. I soldati non vollero sentire ragioni e Alilna si vide costretta ad ucciderli tutti.
Oramai doveva scappare,altre guardie sarebbero presto venute. Giurò di cercare il suo compagno e,se le sue ragioni non fossero state adeguate,lo avrebbe ucciso con la spada che lui stesso le aveva regalato: la Wishy sword (ironia della sorte,questa spada era considerata di buon augurio ed in grado di realizzare i desideri più reconditi. Era ornata da degli frammenti metallici caldi al tatto da un lato,e da una strana pietra a forma d'uovo con tratti somatici umani ma scomposti come in un puzzle dall'altro).
Si rese conto che il metodo migliore per sopravvivere era tornare a fare ciò che meglio le riusciva:uccidere e cacciare. Decise quindi d'arruolarsi in una squdra mercenaria.
Lì incontrò un commilitone che cercava la Spada degli Eroi,di cui possedeva un frammento che utilizzava come portafortuna. Morì alcune più tardi,mentre cercava di combattere contro il capitano avversario nel tentativo di farsi un nome.
Tempo dopo riconobbe il ciondolo-frammento nella tenda di un mercante del campo. Ovviamente era fuori dalla sua portata finanziaria e quindi lo rubò.
S'accorse che il frammento era molto simile a quello incastonato nella sua spada.
Continuò a combattere,diventando sempre più cruenta e rubando sempre più frammenti ai capitani o ai campioni avversari. In una di queste occasini perse l'occhi sinistro,sensa sapere che ciò sarebbe stato indispensabile ai fini della sua sopravvivenza.
Oramai era un mostro che solcava i campi di battaglia dedito al puro massacro (soprattutto dopo che alcuni frammenti gli conficcarono in corpo).
Non riusciva più a sopportare tutti quei massacri e tornò alla magione oramai diroccata.Optò per delle caverne nei paraggi.
In uno dei suoi assalti(adesso volti solo al saccheggio) incontrò un certo Giovanni Belloni. Costui si rivelò fondamentale per la sua esistenza.
Unendo le loro competenze occulte,riusciron a confinare i frammenti nell'orbita sinistra,ottenedo così un conrollo quasi perfetto su di essi.
Tempo dopo trovarono Manes inun torrente limitrofo,e lo aiutarono a compiere la sua vendetta nei confronti di una setta italiana,di cui un tempo era il grancapo Giovanni stesso. Ciò gli costò la vita.
Un anno dopo anche Belloni morì,e si ritrovò di nuovo sola di fronte alle sue ossessioni e paure.
Ben presto l'occhio sinistro incominciò a pulsare e capì che era il momento era arrivato : o trovava il modo di neutralizzarlo, o si sarebbe impadronita della Spada degli Eroi (detta anche Soul Edge) per ottenerne il completo controllo. Si rese conto che qualcosa di oscuro stesse avvolgendo Grandall,e quale modo migliore per scoprirlo se non quello di unirsi ai ribelli di Dalkia?
